the
tale of a name

Curiosity was the reason I began a word-play with my
birth name, Ian Livingstone.
I had a very basic knowledge of Gematria and I knew that I wanted to take
the name 'Ian Livingstone', bring it into Hebrew and later, calculate the
numerical value.
I looked at "IAN":
Remove the vowels I and A from "IAN". (Hebrew does not use vowels)
My justification for removing I and A was based upon the old magical formula
of "IAO".
I being "Isis" the child with a healthy interest in
his work.
A being "Apophis" the destroyer, the depression, the
self-doubt, the dark night of the soul.
O being "Osiris", a new and superior condition which
is only made possible by the process of death. This "death" being
the relinquishing of human desires.
.'. the formula "IAO" allows the formula I +
A = O
.'. (I + A = O)N = "ON"
.'. "IAN" now becomes "ON"
I looked at "LIVINGSTONE":
Remove the vowels I, O and E from "LIVINGSTONE".
I then noticed that the word "EGO" was contained in the surname,
then I noticed the phrase, "I IN EGO" was present. The removal
of the "I IN EGO" is a life-objective of mine, so it seemed fitting
to remove it from my name....
.'. remove I, I, N, E, G and O from "LIVINGSTONE" leaving
the remaining letters, L, V, S, T and N.
By process, "LIVINGSTONE" becomes "LVSTN"
.'. "IAN LIVINGSTONE" .'. "ON LVSTN"
I took my crumpled sheet of paper home to do the maths....:
ON LVSTN into Hebrew is; Ayin (O), Nun (N), Lamed (L), Vau (V), Samekh
(S), Tau (T), Nun (N)
The numerical values of these Hebrew letters:
Ayin (O) = 70 / Nun (N) = 50 / Lamed (L) = 30 / Vau (V) = 6 / Samekh (S)
= 60 / Tau (T) = 400 / Nun (N) = 50
.'. ON LVSTN .'. (Sum) 70+50+30+6+60+400+50 = 666
.'. ON LVSTN .'. 666 .'. DCLXVI
Too much time to think if you ask me......
